How To Buy the Future with Your Writing by Peculiar Medinus
I had the opportunity to attend a Christian event
where I had the privilege of listening to Mensa Otabil deliver a powerful
message. He spoke about the importance of learning to navigate towards a
brighter future, drawing from his insightful book, "Buy the Future."
I will apply this concept to my blog without the twin characters in the book to
prevent any confusion for my readers. It was a message relevant for every
season and particularly beneficial for individuals in their prime.
January, as the first month, is the prime time to
negotiate the future from the present. And in this case, I’ll tackle the area
of writing. This is why. I assume the majority of the More than Writers blog
readers have a strong affinity for writing.
For those of you who map out resolutions at the
beginning of each year, it is important to consider how your writing can
connect with others and provide solutions to their problems. Write to shape opinions and drive change while leaving a
lasting impact on future generations. This is not
limited to individuals who aspire to leave a legacy through their writing.
Regardless of your level of experience, your writing has the power to shape the
future.
It's worth noting that writers vary in the value
they bring to their work. For some individuals, writing is a chosen profession,
while for others, it remains a personal hobby. Whether you pursue writing as a
hobby or a profession, it is important to stay current and relevant.
No matter what area of writing you specialise in, it
is crucial to find the most effective tools to enhance your writing. Writing
has evolved over time, from the use of quills and parchments to modern methods.
Some writers still appreciate the use of a mechanical typewriter for its
striking sound. I'll encourage a reader to let go of analogue in a world that
has moved past digital.
Furthermore, as writers, the way we craft our
writing plays a vital role in the calibre of our work for readers. The
trajectory of your writing career is solely determined by the choices and
efforts you make today.
In 2024, carve out an effective approach to
investing in your writing.
An aspiring writer or an expert
will need to keep honing their writing skills for maximum impact and also use
appropriate resources and tools to aid in the writing process. It is widely
understood that conducting comprehensive research is crucial for producing
engaging content. As many are aware, conducting in-depth analysis is the way to
find credible sources. Those who are experienced in the field continue to use
different writing platforms to share their work and connect with a larger
audience. The goal is to attract attention from your audience and build a
relationship with them over time. This approach aims to promote engagement by
actively seeking feedback and using it to enhance future writing.
To your success!

Great blog Peculiar. I don't know of any who still use a manual typewriter, so cumbersome. I do agree with the statement - 'Write to shape opinions and drive change while leaving a lasting impact on future generations.' Words are powerful and I always say that we, as writers can change the world, one word at a time.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Brendan! Manual typewriters are still in use today and can be easily found for purchase online or at antique stores.

ReplyDeleteThank you! That's such a challenge, especially if, like me, you write just for fun. It's so humbling to then meet readers who have been really affected by my books. This post has encouraged me to be more intentional!
