Book Blest by Sheila Johnson

Book Blest in Stroud was a great opportunity to meet together with other ACW members and sell and buy books, which is what we are all about.

Writers with moustaches!

Jenny Sanders brought along with her a selection of stick on moustaches that some had great fun applying on the Friday. This was a theme from her book - the Magnificent moustache and other stories. www.dancingthroughchaos.wordpress.com She gave a very professional presentation too on the Saturday about books and children reading.

We also had a Writers Forum on the Friday afternoon when anyone from the audience could ask us questions. I was there and did answer some even though I am rather obscured in the image below.

Then on the Saturday we took it in turn to have a slot to talk about our books. This took various forms, either a question and answer session with the minister of Stroud Baptist, Jo Regan, or a presentation or, like me, a bit of both.

I talked about my journalistic career, my two book published under my maiden name - Alpha Male and Waireka - and then about my latest book which it has been my great privilege to edit but is written by Ethiopian ambassador to the poor, Dr Jember Teferra and is entitled - Bible Reflections from a life devoted to the poor. All of my books can be found in the shop on my website www.journojohnson.com or by emailing me at journojohnson@aol.com

Thank you Brendan Conboy and Rev Jo Regan for making this such an amazing event.

  1. Lovely post Sheila! Thanks. I see you guys had a blast time! We bless God for all the fun, the learning experiences, the sales, the networking and the socialising that comes along with book festivals. I pray that there will be many more successful book blests in future embracing more ACW members as well. Blessings.

  2. It looks and sounds like a wonderful event! We drove past the church late in the evening on our journey back to Warwick from Cornwall. I saw the huge banner Book Blest and wished we'd arrived earlier and could have dropped in. But I'm so glad it sounds as if it was a vibrant event.
