Time For The News...
Hello, and welcome to the news.
As you settle down to the
ACW Daily Bulletin, you may not realise that you are
sitting on the edge of history.
You are perching on the edge of things that have gone
before.
Today marks the anniversary of many other April 22nds, and
your correspondent has picked out three with which to mark April 22nd
2025.
April 22nd 1864: US mints 2 cent coin (1st appearance of "In God We Trust")
Christian writers of today are urged to hold on to the words
In God We Trust, reminding them as they write that they don’t need to rely
solely on their own strength.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on
your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
April 22nd 1906: New rule puts umpire in sole charge of all game balls
Christian writers of today are given special ’April 22
Permission’ to edit this rule if they see fit.
One suggestion has just been sent in:
ReNEWed rule puts God in sole charge of all aspects of
writing. NB this includes marketing.
Many thanks to @notasalesperson for this reminder to let God
be the boss.
Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth/pen/keyboard
and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth/pen/keyboard.”
Jeremiah 1:9
April 22nd 1969: First human eye transplant performed
Christian writers of today might take from this a reminder about the importance of looking at their writing with fresh eyes, be it other people’s or – after a break from their manuscript - their own.
This just in: Christian writers of today are encouraged
to know that they are in God’s team. Many thanks to @onecorinthianstwelve for
sending this in.
1 Corinthians 12:27
And that’s all we have time for.
Christian writers of today are urged to honour these
anniversaries, by applying them in their own writing, and by eating cake.
Time now for the weather. It’s looking variable. Christian
writers are advised to be prepared for sun or snow and everything in between.
Oh, just in: @psalmninetyone would like to remind
us that we are #UnderGodsUmbrella.
God has got us covered, whatever the weather.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his
wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness
will be your shield and rampart.
Psalm 91:4
Thank you for joining us.
