What snack would you choose for your writing session? by Peculiar Medinus

For writers, a special treat is always in order to keep our creativity and productivity flowing. Whether you’re writing your latest novel or drafting a business proposal, making sure you have the perfect snack to accompany your work can make all the difference.

Sweets and cookies always come to mind when thinking of snacks to enjoy while writing. But why not elevate your experience by choosing a delicious treat like chocolate cake?

Chocolate cakes are also relatively easy to make. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not bake one yourself? There are plenty of recipes online that can guide you through the process step-by-step—you don’t need to be a professional baker! Baking chocolate cake from scratch is also fun because it allows you to customise it according to your tastes.

If baking isn’t an option for you, you could buy some pre-made slices at a bakery or even order an entire cake from an online bakery service and have it delivered right to your doorstep. Not only will this save time, but you will also save yourself from any potential kitchen disasters!

It’s National German Chocolate Cake Day! This classic chocolate cake has been around since the mid-1800s. Though commonly referred to as "German cake," the confection is not of German origin but rather was named after its creator, Samuel German, an American baker. The combination of dark chocolate, coconut, and pecans makes this cake a delicious indulgence that will tantalise your taste buds and inspire your creative juices.

No matter what we choose as a perfect snack, one thing is certain: it's always best enjoyed with some quality writing time!

  1. Lovely post, Peculiar! Thanks. Writing makes some people hungry. What snacks other than pastry products would you advise that would also prevent weight gain? Blessings.

    1. Thanks, Sophia. That's so true! Writing can provoke hunger, but it may not be a hunger for snacks. I like to nibble between writing sessions, putting my pen down on the paper or taking my hands off the keyboard while having a moment with my snack. And yes! Healthy snacking is the best way to go. Some natural protein bars from Holland and Barrett are a good option.

  2. Amen Peculiar! For me it's a local coffee shop, bustling with people, so I can 'switch off', a flat white...and a generous slice of cheesecake...then let the words flow!

    1. Thanks, John. I like your taste! Cheesecake puts me in another gear! One slice, and then another.
