Reach the Nations

 

 Jennie Allen, an American author, and speaker around the world, had a vision to gather the Global Church together. The vision left her with the question: “If Jesus were coming back soon, what would we do?” She realised that there are so many people who still don’t know Jesus. Her vision was to have a large church meeting, the worldwide church, and every follower of Jesus gathering together, and call it Gather25. It was shared with many leaders across the globe; A 25-hour Global Christian Conference, live-streaming the churches together from all over the world, with prayer, praise and worship and testimonies of what God is doing in each country worldwide.  The mission was to commission the 2.5 billion Christians who love Jesus to reach the 5.5 billion who don’t yet know him.

 

Imagine being part of history in this way. Matthew 28: 19-20 (NIV) Jesus said “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

 

Last Saturday, 1 March, we joined with Gather25 London, which was held at Hackney Church (St John at Hackney) in Lower Clapton Road, E5, hearing stories of young people Jesus is raising up, who have been baptised all over the world and are coming to Him, bringing revival like we have never known.  Revival is already here. It was live-streamed into churches, homes and communities in over 179 countries, starting in the USA at 01.00 UK time on Saturday 1 March and ending in Peru at 02.00 UK time on 2 March.

 

I felt very privileged to have been there. It was a beautiful meeting, and as I watched the people at the church, and on live-stream, worshipping and loving Jesus with their whole hearts, I felt so blessed to be connected as one in Christ, the Global Church, making history.  The worship was heavenly, with Matt Redman leading some of the music. 

 

It made me think about all at MTW too, and how you are all making history and spreading the Word and reaching the nations with your writing, inspiring people all over the world, and what a blessing to be part of this as well.
