I have (had) a friend from Uni who ended our correspondence with among other stuff saying that I was sarcastic and insouccient (I had to look that word up... ) Which I am not! Esp sarcasm, which is nasty, stinging stuff, and I would never use. She has mis-read the kind of joking around, which can be against the self, which goes on here in Oxford, which I probably have picked up ... the words you quote can indeed be dangerous on FB etc ...Mari Howardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05606125048044373268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-73019495226845024562016-02-03T15:43:35.193+00:002016-02-03T15:43:35.193+00:00Loved this, Clare! One of the things I feel most passionate about is that our worship of God should be demonstrated in our everyday lives, and not just in what happens on a Sunday morning. And as you rightly pointed out, that means thinking about how we write as well as what we write. xxFiona Lloydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01803986871462903904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-33102986224994036842016-02-03T15:39:42.331+00:002016-02-03T15:39:42.331+00:00:-) So glad you found it useful.:-) So glad you found it useful.Mari Howardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05606125048044373268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-90425404558991448642016-02-03T15:39:00.916+00:002016-02-03T15:39:00.916+00:00Maybe you could do a bit of revising/editing, with...Maybe you could do a bit of revising/editing, without spoiling the story? That's what emojis are for, I suppose, and they help, but I'm always reading and re-reading texts or FB statuses to check. It's incredibly hard not to sound sarcastic, for instance, when you write 'Hey, thanks!' or 'I couldn't agree more!' It's a meaning minefield.<br />Fran Hillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07935088780461825341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-45919344957618846482016-02-03T09:00:54.506+00:002016-02-03T09:00:54.506+00:00Thank you for this, Clare. I'm afraid my WIP doesn't meet your standard; it's too preachy. I find it tragic that openly speaking about God, Jesus or faith is so often a sure way to being rejected without further thought.greyowlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04110784886028925894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-17497842959181786872016-02-03T08:40:34.058+00:002016-02-03T08:40:34.058+00:00You make a good point on a delicate subject, Clare...You make a good point on a delicate subject, Clare.
