My published book are fiction but I have found it impossible to stick myself into what publishers want so am a convinced Indie. It's a bit sad to see that even indies have to some extent fallen for pleasing current trends but mostly we are free!Mari Howardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05606125048044373268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-19924354332283245552016-04-02T18:35:30.745+01:002016-04-02T18:35:30.745+01:00HI James... my thoughts on this, for what it's...HI James... my thoughts on this, for what it's worth... so many young people today are creative in many media. So many who are artists are also writers, actors are also writing books, painters are writing plays... It used to be that you focused on one thing, being a writer, say, or being a photographer. Not any more, I'm happy to say!Franhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11016367752804011850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-86551614132846779182016-04-02T11:48:24.094+01:002016-04-02T11:48:24.094+01:00Very encouraging James. I use "counter-intuitive" ironically, because what you say is exactly the way it should be. But "sharing with the world" has come to mean all those other things - writing in a currently-fashionable genre, writing what you have been led to believe people want to read, and so on, which crush our creativity. There are so many shoulds and oughts now about getting yourself into the position of being able to "share with the world" which threatens to destroy the essence of creativity. So thank you for your message, and one I need to hear right now!www.scskillman.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07934126110563408842noreply@blogger.com
