And turquoise is my favourite colour, so there's something there for me about accepting myself as I am, rather than thinking I need to blend in with everyone else. xxFiona Lloydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01803986871462903904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643092331729126387.post-62990778521705126332018-01-05T14:35:13.432+00:002018-01-05T14:35:13.432+00:00Thanks, Georgie! To get started on a single bed knitting machine it is essential. For the thrifty knitter it is possible to reuse the waste yarn, but that takes more time than discarding it. A nylon cord between the waste yarn and the main knitting can be pulled out rather than having to unravel anything. This bit is so true - 'I have sat through so many conference seminars and read so many books that tell me how the opening sentence should grip the (sometimes unfortunate) reader and lure them in within those few pithy words. Brilliant examples are quoted and misquoted. The sense of expectation on my writerly shoulders practically bends me double.' By the way, really intrigued by the waste yarn. Never heard of that before. (Am an amateur knitter.)
